An afternoon wreck stopped traffic along Poplar Avenue in Germantown around 5pm.  It happened just east of Germantown Parkway between Dogwood Road and Kimbrough.  For a time, Poplar was blocked in both directions.   Action News 5 viewer Chip Marcrum sent these pictures to us.

This is the 20th year for the Memphis Runners Track Club Women and Running Training program. The program has just received an award from the Road Runners Clubs of America for having the most successful training program for runners in the United States. Twenty percent of the Women’s Running program’s coaches have completed training and are certified by the Road Runners Club of America.

This year’s training program kicks of Monday July 12th with an open house at the Agricenter from 4:30p-7:30p. This is an informational open house with registration available on site. The first pace oriented training sessions begin Monday evening July 19th and continue through Monday evening September 13th (no class Monday September 6th- Labor Day).

The program concludes with a “graduation 5k” Saturday September 18th.

Registration through July 19th is $20, after July 19th $25.
