The Methodist Le Bonheur Women’s & Children’s Pavilion was awarded two awards in this year’s Best of 2010 awards program presented by South Central Construction, a division of McGraw Hill Construction.
The hospital was awarded Best Green Building and given an Award of Excellence for Architectural Design in the annual competition which draws project entries from Alabama, Arkansas, Kentucky, Mississippi & Tennessee. Submitted by TRO Jung|Brannen, the awards were given to the entire construction and design team, including Methodist Le Bonheur, TRO Jung|Brannen, Flintco, Inc., Allen and Hoshall, and Burr and Cole Consulting Engineers.
“The jury awarded projects based on entry criteria including safety, innovation, contribution to the community or industry, construction quality and craftsmanship, and function and aesthetic quality of design,” said McGraw Hill.
The new Methodist Le Bonheur Germantown Hospital Women’s and Children's Pavilion, which represents the largest phase of an ambitious $84 million expansion/renovation project occurring at the hospital, is registered to achieve a LEED Gold rating. Once certified, the project will be the largest LEED certified facility in the region.
