Former CBHS student wins national Dr Pepper scholarship during SEC Championship game |

Garrett Booker, a student at Barry University, won the $100,000 grand prize scholarship as part of the Dr Pepper Tuition Giveaway by completing the most football throws into an oversized Dr. Pepper can replica on national television at the SEC Championship game Saturday.
Booker was a basketball player for Christian Brothers High School.
He thanked friends and family back in Memphis after winning the scholarship
Garrett submitted a video online at DrPepper.com explaining why he deserved to win tuition money and how he would like to use his education to make an impact on the world.
He competed against fellow grand prize finalist, Ryan Kovacik from Glen Allen, VA who took home $23,000 in tuition money.
Garrett completed 20 football throws in 30 seconds, his opponent scored 13 throws.
