Trash pickup delays in Germantown | Business

The trash talk between a local garbage company and its workers will now affect trash pickup in Germantown. Members of the Teamsters union for the city's solid waste collector, Republic Services/Allied Waste, are striking. Management crews and temporary workers are being used to run the collection routes.
The city of Germantown advises you go ahead and put your household trash, recyclables and yard debris on the curb on your regular pickup day. City officials say just leave it there until it's collected.
Republic hopes to begin collecting in Germantown on Wednesday and will start with homes scheduled for Monday pickup. We are told the contractor will work through the weekend until all the city's trash is picked up.
