Germantown Middle School student brought gun to class | News
MEMPHIS, TN- (WMC-TV) – A Germantown Middle School student is facing a 180 day suspension after he admitted to officials that he brought a gun to school.
Principal Russell Joy sent a note home with students today letting them know about the incident.
"Please understand there is no evidence that this child intended to cause any harm or any serious disruption at school," the letter said in part. "However this is a very serious matter, and such behavior is unacceptable and will not be tolerated on any school campus."
School officials found the gun in campus after another student reported it.
In addition to facing suspension, the child who brought he gun to school was also issued a juvenile summons by Germantown police.
