Commissioner, taxpayers to meet on schools | News
(WMC-TV) – On the same day that a federal judge is hearing a case that could torpedo plans to form municipal school districts in Shelby County, another group plans to meet to discuss education in Germantown.
Shelby County Commissioner Mike Ritz will host a town hall meeting Thursday evening at New Bethel Missionary Baptist Church.
Ritz will discuss how much having their own public school system would cost Germantown taxpayers. He’ll also discuss what the merger of Shelby County and Memphis schools will affect students in Germantown.
The meeting will run from 5:30 p.m. until 6:30 p.m.
