Featured speaker Gary Patterson is the Information Services Director and Geologist at the University of Memphis Center for Earthquake Research and Information (CERI) and Executive Director of the West Tennessee Seismic Safety Commission. He is a native Memphian who has studied earthquakes in the U.S. and abroad for the past 15 years.

Summer Concert Series Continues Thursdays In Collierville

Grab the family and join your friends and neighbors every Thursday night in June and July for the 2010 Sunset on the Square Summer Concert Series located on the historic town square. Live music, great food and lots of fun! Don't forget your lawn chairs!

Farmington Blvd. construction work to begin next week

Road Construction on Farmington Boulevard, between Allenby Road and Wolf River Boulevard, is scheduled to begin Monday, June 14 and continue through September 30.

Motorists can expect short-term, periodic delays and are encouraged to find an alternate route. The project, involving approximately one mile, will involve removing all pavement and reconstructing the entire roadway.

During construction, the road will be open to two-way traffic.

The project is 100 percent federally funded at $1.5 million.

Jeremy Shrader & Memphis Hot Jazz

Jeremy Shrader & the Memphis Hot Jazz will be the featured entertainment at Main Street Collierville’s 19th Annual Sunset on the Square Summer Concert Series June 10th evening. The band will play jazz,and American popular standards from the 1920s-60s.  Concerts are held in the bandstand in Confederate Park in Historic Downtown Collierville.

Germantown tries to figure out future of John Gray house

What should be done with a historic house that has no direct ties to Germantown and sits unused in Municipal Park?

That is the question city officials are mulling about the John Gray House.

It is among the oldest brick homes in Shelby County and may have been a stagecoach stop during the early 19th century.
